If you’re curious about the mind

A plain path through three rooms: your own attention, a few quiet minutes, and hypnosis aimed only at yourself.

You may have arrived hoping for a trick that works on someone else — a husband, a neighbour, a room. The answer is no, and it is no on the first screen, not in a footnote. Mind control, in this house, means the government of your own thoughts: where attention goes, how a habit is kept, how you speak to yourself when the afternoon scatters. The will across the table remains theirs.

If you are near seventy and you simply want your own mind back from a wandering hour, you are in the right doorway. If you are younger and curious, you are welcome, under the same rule. Nothing here is a cure, an income, or a power over other people.

  1. 1. Mind control — yourself, not someone else

Start with mind control. The room is self only. It will not teach you to steer another person. If the trouble is a scattered afternoon, and you would like your attention back without being scolded, read a scattered afternoon. Dignity can stay intact while the thoughts wander. The FAQ answers “Do you teach mind control of other people?” with a plain no.

  2. 2. Meditation — a practice, not a cure

The room is meditation. It is a practice of attention. It is not a cure for a low mood, and it is not a clinic. A kind place to start, if you do not want the floor, is five minutes in a chair.

If stillness makes you feel worse, stop. You are allowed to stop. If the distress keeps growing, talk with a clinician. Do not sit through harm in order to finish a method. Never stop, skip, or change a prescribed antidepressant, or any other prescribed medicine, because a practice seemed to work or seemed to fail. If you are in crisis in the United States, call or text 988 (https://988lifeline.org/).

  3. 3. Hypnosis — self-hypnosis lives inside

The room is hypnosis. Self-hypnosis is not its own pillar and not its own door in the navigation. It is one practice inside that room, done by you, to you. The glossary says this under hypnosis and self-hypnosis.

Do not use it on anyone else. Do not practice while you are driving, or while you are doing anything else that needs your ordinary attention. It is not treatment. It is not a reason to change a prescribed medicine. The FAQ also answers “Do you teach hypnosis of other people?” The answer is no.

  4. 4. The shop, look only

The shop is closed. The catalog is a preview. Nothing is for sale. Curiosity does not require a purchase, and no piece is offered as a way to influence someone else.

  5. 5. If you came hoping to move someone else

Read the FAQ question “Do you teach mind control of other people?” It is a short refusal, on purpose. The same refusal covers persuasion and hypnosis of another person. If what you wanted was company, or a low mood, or a morning, those are different doors on If you’re new here. They are still not a clinic.

Plain answers for these rooms are in the mind control FAQ, the meditation FAQ, and the hypnosis FAQ, beside the house FAQ.

If a practice leaves you worse, stop it and talk with a clinician. Never stop prescribed medicine from a page. In crisis in the United States, call or text 988 (https://988lifeline.org/).
