Hypnosis FAQ
Plain answers for this room, in ordinary words. The long essays may use an older voice. This page does not.
Will this teach me to hypnotize other people?
No. This house does not teach you how to hypnotize, persuade, or control another person. It will not give you a stage method for an audience, a script for a partner, or any way to put someone else under. If that is what you came for, the answer is no, and it stays no.
Can I use this on my husband, or on anyone else?
No. Self-hypnosis is not its own room. It lives inside this one, and it is done by you, to you. The glossary says the same under hypnosis and self-hypnosis. You do not aim it at a husband, a partner, a child, or anyone else. Their mind is not yours to run.
May I practice while driving, or while using machinery?
No. Do not practice while you are driving. Do not practice while you are operating machinery, or while you are doing anything else that needs your ordinary attention. Wait until you are still, safe, and not responsible for a vehicle or a machine. This is not something to do on the road.
Is this treatment, therapy, or a clinic?
No. This room is educational writing. It is not therapy, not a clinic, not counseling, and not treatment. It does not diagnose. It will not treat pain, a habit, fear, or a low mood. If you need care, please take it to a clinician or another qualified professional. The pages on stage fright and on quitting a habit are education only.
Should I stop prescribed medicine because a practice seemed to help?
No. Never stop, skip, or change a prescribed medicine because a practice seemed to help or because it did not. Feeling a little clearer is not a medical plan. Feeling worse is not a reason to handle the dose yourself. Talk with your clinician about any change in care. Stopping on your own can be dangerous. If you are in crisis in the United States, call or text 988 (https://988lifeline.org/).
Who is this room for?
First, for a woman around seventy who wants warmth, clarity, and dignity, and who is curious about a quiet practice she does alone. You might recognize nerves before you speak, or a habit you would like to loosen without handing the work to someone else. Younger women are welcome too, including women who do not want a website to decide their care. This room is not for anyone who wants a method for another person.
How should I read this room, and where do I start?
Start with one page, not all of them. The longer essay is the hypnosis room, in an older voice. This FAQ is not. If a circumstance sounds like your week, open that page: stage fright, which is education only, or quitting a habit, which is not a treatment and not a reason to stop medicine. If you are new to the house, the Begin path If you’re curious about the mind is a short map in ordinary English. The glossary defines hypnosis and self-hypnosis. The house FAQ answers “Do you teach hypnosis of other people?” with a plain no. None of these pages is for use on someone else, and none is for practice while you are driving.
Is anything for sale, and will a product work on someone else?
No. The shop is closed. You may look at a catalog of pieces that are planned and not yet for sale. You cannot buy them. Nothing here is a script for another person’s mind. No product is treatment, a cure, an income, or magic, and no future piece is for use on someone else or while driving.
How does this room relate to mind control?
They are neighboring rooms, and both are self only. Mind control here is the government of your own thoughts. Hypnosis here is a practice you do to yourself, inside its own room. Neither will teach you to steer another person. Neither is treatment. Neither is a performance that puts a room under your hand.
What if I am in crisis, or a practice leaves me worse?
If a practice leaves you worse, stop. If distress grows, talk with a clinician. In the United States, 988 is the crisis line. Call or text 988 (https://988lifeline.org/) if you are in crisis, if you do not feel safe, or if you are not sure the pain is enough to count. You do not need a tidy explanation. This page will not describe ways to harm yourself. If you are elsewhere, use your local emergency number or a local crisis service. Do not bring a crisis to this website. There is no public inbox, and a page cannot answer you.
The longer essay is the hypnosis room. Short answers for the whole house are in the FAQ. The glossary defines hypnosis, self-hypnosis, and adjunct to care. If you are new here, start with If you’re curious about the mind. Shorter pages already written are in the library. The shop is closed. Nothing there is for another person, nothing is for use while driving, and nothing is for sale.
If a practice leaves you worse, stop. If you are in crisis in the United States, call or text 988 (https://988lifeline.org/) before you keep reading. This page will not describe ways to harm yourself. A page cannot replace a clinician.
